Updating the License on the Floating License Manager

If you have just had a maintenance renewal, or other changes to your floating license by our Sales Team; then you will need to update the license on your server by updating the sfpflv2.dat which you should recieve from Actify.

  1. IMPORTANT! - Stop the Actify Floating License Manager Service in LMTools.exe, under Start/Stop/Reread tab

    1. If it does not stop, please enable the Force Server Shutdown checkbox.

    2. If the service still does not stop, then open the Windows Services, search for the service name, and stop it manually.

  2. Rename the current/original sfpflv2.dat to another name.

  3. Then copy/paste the new sfpflv2.dat to C:\Program Files\Actify\Floating License Manager 

  4. Run lmtools.exe (same folder above)

  5. Perform a Stop, Start and Re-read.

  6. Navigate to the Service Status tab.

  7. Select Perform Status Enquiry.

  8. At the bottom of the listing, you should see text similar to the following:

    Users of SpinFire11: (Total of 2 licenses issued; Total of 0 licenses in use)
    Users of 3DView35-Core: (Total of 2 licenses issued; Total of 0 licenses in use)
